CSC and (Insert Event Name Here) love to celebrate the beauty, creativity, and passion of cosplayers and encourage everyone to participate in these activities, regardless of age, race, gender, religion, size, or disability. Cosplay is for everyone!

A friendly reminder that (Insert Event Name Here) is a family-friendly convention, meant for people of all-ages. As such, (Insert Event Name Here) kindly ask those to follow the guidelines below to help keep this event a space for everyone:

Cosplay Rules
  • Please keep shoes on at all times. If the character you wish to cosplay is barefoot, try clear shoes or following tutorials online to create “invisible shoes”
  • Clothing and cosplay should not expose the body in a manner that would be deemed as indecent exposure by the city of Mississauga or the province of Ontario. All private parts must be covered by opaque, non-transparent/non-translucent material that will not slip or have any gaps.
  • Male attendees wearing tight-fitting costumes should wear a dance belt underneath.
  • Costumes worn on the convention floor must not obstruct or impede the flow of traffic or entryways. If the costume cannot fit through a standard doorway, it may not be allowed inside the convention area.
  • Attendees with bulky costumes, costumes that obscure the vision, or costumes with large extensions such as wings or spikes, should have a designated “handler,” to assist them through the hallways and crowds.
  • No costumes may be realistic depictions of law enforcement, current military uniforms, first responders, emergency medical personnel, or any official government agent.
  • If your cosplay does have a weapon and/or large prop, please see our Prop/Replica Weapon Rules.
